IT’S been a successful year at the Radnor Arms, where the small rural community of New Radnor and the surrounding villages have came together and helped the community-owned pub to flourish.
The pub has been through a dramatic refurbishment and has integrated itself firmly into the community. Starting off with the refurbishment, the pub has seen changes over the last 12 months that are sure to last many years into the future.
These changes include a fully refurbished main bar, carpet laid in both of the two side lounges, and more recently (December 2025), the re-opening of the newly refurbished back bar.
All areas of the main bar and lounges have been carefully decorated with thoughtfully curated art work to adorn its walls, showcasing the pubs past including fascinating village photographs.
The pub’s events and marketing teams have focused on arranging and promoting activities that encourage community engagement across all age groups.
Recently hosting family and friends games night, a dementia learning session, a deaf awareness session, future care planning session and winter health checkups for villagers.
Other notable events in 2025 include embracing diversity inclusion through pride month, which included a well attended pride quiz, plus a Eurovision viewing party for those diehard pop music fans.
The pub also hosted many food van evenings, where food venues popped-up outside the pub serving a range of cuisines from Italian, Greek and Afro-Fusion, all going down a storm. More of these pop-up food vans are set to appear in 2026.
Commenting on plans for the year ahead, a committee member said: “After such a positive year of refurbishment and community engagement, 2026 is about building on that momentum.”
“We’re looking forward to expanding our programme of inclusive events, welcoming even more people through our doors, and continuing to develop the pub as a true hub for New Radnor and the surrounding villages.
With significant refurbishments phases now complete, our focus will be on strengthening community connections, supporting local groups, and ensuring the Radnor Arms remains a vibrant, welcoming space for everyone well into the future.”
To celebrate the hard work of everyone involved in breathing new life into the pub, members of the community came together at the Radnor Arms this New Years Eve (photos below) to welcome in the New Year.
The pub has released it latest January events calendar, so you don't miss a thing.
