FOR those who are following the story of the Radnor Arms will know that committee elections recently took place, where a new volunteer lead committee was elected to oversee the continued renovation and operations of the Radnor Arms in New Radnor.
The new committee has a clear mission, to bring people together through community events, and to see the pub through its continuing renovation phases.
As a proud community pub, the Radnor Arms had always been at the heart of village life, up until its closure back in 2016.
Now back open and community lead (since 2024), with the support of local volunteers and residents, the new committee aims to build on that spirit by creating regular events that locals in the village and the areas can enjoy.
The new committee is committed to ‘ramping up’ community events, aiming to bring multiple events each month. From live music nights, food vans, and quiz evenings to seasonal celebrations and family-friendly gatherings. And we cannot forgot the annual New Radnor duck race, where of course the pub will be open to welcome racers.
“Our goal is simple, to bring people together,” said a spokesperson for the committee.
They added, “New Radnor is a close-knit community, and we want to make sure there’s always something happening that brings smiles, laughter, and connection to the community and others from the surrounding areas.”
The Radnor Arms already plays an important role in local life, offering a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike, and also provides and operates community toilets and a community bookstop. With the new committee’s enthusiasm and commitment, the hope is to strengthen that sense of belonging even further.
Although New Radnor is a small village, the pub joins the pHub and Community Centre as another venue for events and community gatherings, working closely together to bring smiles, superb tasting food, and music to villagers.
Locals are encouraged to share their ideas or get involved in planning future events. Anyone interested can pop into the pub to find out more or speak to a member of the team by emailing: contact@rahl.cbs.org
The pub has also just released its first events calendar, where people can view upcoming events at the Radnor Arms.

Whether you’re a long-time local or new to the area, the Radnor Arms looks forward to welcoming you to one of their upcoming community events, where good company, great conversation, and local spirit are always on tap.
